Esteban Rios was born in
Rosario,
province of
Santa Fe,
Argentina. At the very young age of 15, he started singing in social events. He participated and won the well known Argentinean folkloric musical festivals of “Cosquin”, “Paso del Salado” and “Peyrano”.
He studied harmony with professor Mario Oyarbide during 1987 and 1988. Then, he also won “Cosquin” Festival as both singer and composer during 1989 and 1990.
Esteban Rios recorded his first vinyl album named “Porta Retrato” endorsed by
Alfa Centauro, S.A., with the participation of the Argentinean Ecological Foundation, promoting the song “Están Matando al Mundo”.
During 1993 and 1994, Esteban Rios worked for the Cultural Department of the city of
Rosario (
Santa Fe), participating in several shows. He took part of diverse musical work-shops for handicapped children all over the
province of Santa Fe. In the same year, he participated in a campaign to fight HIV-AIDS, recording with ten other Argentinean composers for “Promúsica” and for the
municipality of Rosario. Esteban Rios was awarded a prize by the entities OFESS and ACAD, both of them devoted to fight AIDS.
In 1995 and 1996, Esteban Rios was devoted to rock and ballad music, and recorded his second album named “Cuando Duerma el Sol”. This album was then of interest to EMI Music Records.
He toured all Argentina with the folkloric group “Aji Molido”, during 1997 and 1998.
During 2001, Esteban Rios released his new album called “Nuevos Rios”, making appearances in CM (canal musical) – the Argentinean musical channel -. Songs of this album were promoted all over the country.
The album “Aguita de Amor” was released in 2003, after signing a contract with Acuario Records. Basically, the album contains Latin rhythms and a ballad of hope named “Escucha tu Corazón”. A video clip of the song “Agüita de Amor” was also filmed.
Esteban Rios moved to
Buenos Aires in 2003, writing songs for many other singers.
In 2004, Esteban Rios traveled to USA, invited by a company based in Miami. Then, in October and November 2005, he performed in the theatre “La Muestra” located in Miraflores, Lima-Perú. He also worked in a campaign together with Ariel Puchetta (singer of the tropical musical group Ráfaga) to help under privileged Peruvian children.
In 2006, the CD “Vida” was recorded under the musical direction of Adrián Schinoff (presently, the piano player of Niña Pastori – Julieta Benegas – David Bisbal – Paulina Rubio; he also worked together with many renowned Grammy winning musicians).

Esteban Rios traveled in several occasions to the beautiful
island of
Puerto Rico, performing with the talented musical composer and arranger Richard Scoffano in the cities of
San Juan,
Ponce,
Salinas, and
Aguadilla.
In September 2006, he traveled to
Spain to meet again with the musical director Adrián Schinoff in order to formally present the CD “Vida”.
Effective December 2006, Esteban Rios accepted the proposal to produce, direct and promote the international career of Federico Maldonado, winner of the Argentinean TV reality show “Operación Triunfo” Second Generation. (
http://www.federicomaldonado.com/). For this purpose, the composer and singer Solar Martinez - based in
Miami - accepted the role as co-producer.
Early on 2007, already in Argentina, Esteban’s good friend and arranger Sergio “Palmo” Addario directed the new CD for Federico Maldonado. As a quick reference, Sergio Addario is the arranger and first guitar player of the well known singer Diego Torres. Also, from Madrid-Spain, Adrián Schinoff prepared some of the arrangements for this same CD.
The video clip “Escapar de Ti”, performed by Federico Maldonado was filmed by the movie director Fernando Herrera and his staff. The original music and lyrics belong to Esteban Rios.
Later in May 2007, Esteban Rios traveled to
Mexico City to promote the career of Federico Maldonado.
In March 2008, Esteban Rios engaged in the complete musical production and video clip of the Argentinean group “Tarjeta Roja”. During the same year, new songs were composed by Esteban Rios for the very well known Argentinean folklore singer Zamba Quipildor.
Esteban Rios promoted in Miami the Argentinean musical group “Las Cinco Voces” during July 2008. At the very same time, another folklore CD was produced for the group “Voces del Sur”, which is based in Orlando-Florida.
In January 2009, the new CD “Payaso de Barrio” is composed and produced by Esteban Rios for his present group named “Ruda Macho”
